Long Weekend Closes

It's been a fun weekend, but a long one. I got my office back and am able to type up here again. It's nice to be able to sit and hear yourself think. Lise in the throws of putting Ryan to bed, and Connor is singing in the background. A typical Sunday night. We had a play date with "Ryan I." today. All went well and soon after his arrival , additional superheros arrived and a good time was had by all. Ryan's Mom knows some people I went to high school with which goes to show how small a world we live in. Connor and our Ryan took good naps after our visitors left and when Ryan got up, I took him do do some photos of the sunset at Hammonasset State Park.

Hammonasset Beach
I got a few shots I liked but Ryan and I froze in the near constant 20Mph breeze at the shoreline. I couldn't wear gloves, because I was taking the pictures and I thought I could have gotten frostbite, if I had decided to stick around any longer. Anyway, I got home and discovered a few images I liked... I have such a hard time editing, because I like different pictures for different reasons. I cut down my original 50 to about 26 pictures... (click on the picture above for the album or here for the slide show) I'm going to have to pick out one or two. If you have a favorite, let me know which one. If they are all trite and crap... be nice, but tell me that too. It's good to hear why people don't like a photo... it helps me edit in the future...

They're all gorgeous photos, but I think I like the last one of the Nature Center best... the lit windows against the twilight is just beautiful... with the sunset-lit sand in the foreground.

I think #7 is my second favorite - the sky came out amazing in that shot.

Fingerless gloves help a great deal when it comes to cold weather photography... and you can be all emo in them too. ;)

I like the pic of the nature center and the one with Ryan with it in the back ground.. Lots of depth, colors and scale... You have a great eye.. I can appreciate the difficulty of editing pics - I wonder if it harder to throw of printed pics or edited ones!
Have to say it's nice to see ground without 4 feet of snow on top of it... :)
