Ryan's room

Almost done... I'm beat, and I don't have much to say. I got rid of Lisa's old Crib today. A woman I work with is adopting an 18 month old, and I hope it helps her out. :)

Anyway... I didn't finish Ryan's room, but it's all set for tomorrow, and I should be able to finish before noon time.

just a little left to go... I have to do the closets, but I already back-cut all the moldings (ick) and pulled out all the baseboard... it should be pretty easy to do, after I clean up my pile of debris.

Ryan's room gets a floor

Sooo... It's like 9pm and I got about 1/2 the room done. First I had to strip out the carpet... since I don't have a good wide angle for the camera (digital) it makes it hard to show it a good before, but here is what is looked like without a carpet:

That didn't take tooo long to clean out, and after a dump run and fill up at D&D, I got to putting the flooring in.... I got about 1/3 of the way done today, and I did take my time. Tomorrow I'm thinking I'll have at least everything up to the closet completed and then I'll prolly post a wide angle picture for you to peek at.

Here's where I am today:

The boys are asleep and I will be able to work alone for most for the day tomorrow.

Christmas break musings.

We're almost finished with Christmas. It's like the holiday that never ends. I like it because I get to see family and friends that I don't normally get an opportunity to see, however, I get so exhausted in the process that I feel happy to be back at home for a day or two after the visitation is over. :)

Here are the pictures so far....

Today we have some more friends stopping by and tomorrow I am going to start installing hardwood floors in Ryan's room if this cold I have brewing doesn't overcome me in the morning.

This year, I completed a kitchen renovation that took about 5 days of time, and with the help of my family, we completely gutted and replaced my kitchen. It was hard work, but I loved the results:

Kitchen Renovation

I have since installed new flooring into my bedroom and my brother-in-law helped me install some recessed lighting in our living room. Next will be Ryan's and Connor's rooms along with gutting the three bathrooms. (eek) Lise and I are excited about the transformation, but we have to get some trim work completed and a few weekend projects done before we can get our teeth into the baths. Who knows, maybe I'll changes jobs and work as a carpenter like my grandfather.

Ok.. back to more house cleaning and getting Connor to go to sleep. If anyone knows anything I leagally do to make an overtired 3 year old take a nap, I'd be interested.

First Blog

OK,
So I have no clue if I'll keep this up, but I set up a Blog for my Mom today and I figured that I'd share a little. First.. I don't think of myself as a blogger, I'm actually one to think this kinda stuff is hokey, unless you're a Rick Steves type and need to communicate with an audience. Secondly, I'm not so sure that I have anything of importance to say that I feel is worth anyone's time or Googability.
