"Did you say inflection or infection?"

Yup ... Kidney infection. I'm classic.(apparently) My Dr is less worried about how I got this than my pediatrician, and she seems to think that if I get more than 2 in my lifetime, that I should track down the cause. After getting some insight into what the tests are like... I'll pass for now. If I get another infection, or this one is tricky to get rid of, then I'll jump in both feet. When I asked how this could have happened, she said it wasn't common, but there are a few cases every year. So I'm OK
Then why the bear, you might ask... he's early. Today, Ryan was much improved. I think the amount of sleep he had, had a lot to do with it. But when we got to the end of the day, he was nice and asked me to go out for dinner. Lise looked soo tired, it was an easy decision to makeWe tried the "Killingworth Cafe" partly due to location, and partly because Lise had been there and thought they might have good Ribs. It was my first time and driven by Rib curiosity, I went. They ran out of Ribs that night (of course). That's OK, though... I had Spiderman and a Blue Power Ranger to join me for a 1/2 rack of lamb chops (was good.. not great) and a Lobster Bisque. I liked the townie-pubbiness of the place, but the food was kinda bland. A few other families came in, and there was very little to tell you. When I came out, there was a wooden bear that had been carved and I thought it made an interesting subject. It reminded me of a certain bear I gave my mom after coming home from California.. I wonder where she buried that one. :)

Supider Man!

From his fortress of solitude, Super Ryan man begins to execute his plan for world domination. First things first... He'll capture the world's reserve of fruit roll-up snacks...
But wait....

Who is that in the distance? From the shadows, Super Concon attacks the dark prince before his attack on the world's fruit roll-up supplies unfurls. It's a devastating blow against the super villain...

Super Concon reflects on his role in the universe... being a superhero is a heavy burden to bear, and our hero takes a well deserved rest.

Maturity

Today I read my brother's blog about his own self journey. I was inspired to think about my own journey a bit and the areas that I know I need to work on. Maturity is an area where I know I could definitely improve. For example, about a month ago, a neighbor came to me and asked where Lise got "those", pointing to the kissing balls we had hung the day before. "They are the nicest on the street. " I agreed, but in my head, I was struggling with my own internal 16 year-old who wanted to say, "You're right, I do have the best balls on the street." I can't deny that I like Howard Stern, Bevis and Butthead and probably worst of all, I enjoy a raunchy joke anytime. My Dad would say that I am well aligned with the lowest cast in society and as a 36 year old who laughs with his two boys at farts and "poo poo" jokes, I can't disagree too whole heartedly. I blame my minister mother for this, somehow. I mean, I was brought up by a woman who can always find a joke ready at a funeral or break the tension in a fight with a wise crack. (to the church: please don't defrock her... she a nice lady all the other times) OK.. I own it... I'm immature. My only defense is that it's my own defense mechanism for all the insanity I see every day.

As for maturing, I know that this is the heart of my dilemma. Do I embrace it? I think I'd miss it. Anyway, there are a lot of people that have and are all serious all the time... don't we need a 60 year old that tells grandchildren off color jokes and hides fake cockroaches in his wife's sleeping bag. Sounds a lot more fun than being a CEO of a major corporation to me.... Unless I could dress like Spiderman at work... then I'd rethink my position.

David doesnt wear Spiderman underware

Becky,

Wouldn't it be great if every day we had an update on David's underwear? I'm certain he still has some of those Underoos hiding in the back of his top drawer. My guess is that this week he's covering his backside with X-Men... It's just a guess but there seems to be a superhero theme in the air. I hear there will be a "Justice League" movie this year... an opportunity for new undies? You tell us.

PS - I wonder when this will entice David to show up and comment. :)
